PROPOLIS
What is Propolis?
Honeybees gather propolis, a resin, from tree bark and leaves. They combine this resin with nectar, creating a mix of wax, pollen and bee bread. They then use this substance to seal their hives, protecting it from outside contaminants. They also use propolis at the entrance to the hive to sterilize themselves, protecting their hive from disease and parasites, as they come and go. Propolis has been used by man since 300 BC. Internally, it is recognized as an anti-infection medicine. Numerous papers have been written on the anti-fungal, anti-virus and anti-bacterial properties of propolis.
